Zoya Nail Polish

Mega-frustrating.

I read a lot of online reviews about how wonderful Zoya nail polish is.  At the time, no retailers were listed in this area.  But the polishes aren’t too expensive, so I ordered some.  Most of you know I’m a nut for glitter, so I ordered a couple of glitter/dichroic-style colors.

When they arrived I immediately did my nails with a color called “Edyta,” which is described on the Zoya website as “A complex mixture of gold, olive, blue-green and smoky grey with a sparkling metallic finish.”  In the bottle it looks like army green with a gold fleck highlight.  Unfortunately, on the nails, it dulled down to a gunmetal grey with such tiny glitter components that it almost made my nails look dusty.  Very boring.

But the manicure did last a really long time; ten days before I saw any edge wear (this was using Orly’s Top 2 Bottom base/top coat).  So I ordered a few more colors…also glittery.

I’m sure you can guess what happened.  The next color I tried, “Neeka” (described as “A greyed amethyst with subtle red duochrome shimmer and bright gold glitter accents”) turned out to be a greyed periwinkle with that same look of having dust on my nails; grey, flecky and dirty.

In the meantime, I did discover that Ulta sells this brand.  So, I’ve made up my mind about two things:

1. No more glitter nail polish through online ordering, and

2. Always check Ulta first.

Just a li’l rant for the day.  I tried to review these on the Zoya site, but they are not posting them.  Hmm.  Wonder why?  I’m going to investigate Nails, Inc. next.
